An Annual Event to Explore & Discover the Wonders of the Texas Migratory Pathway
Migration Matters Vol. 2 x Anthology Dinner Series #2
A celebration and exploration of pollinators and the food they make possible.
from foraging to food
Join us for the 2nd Annual Migration Matters, an evening dedicated to celebrating and deepening our understanding of migrating pollinators and the food they make possible.
Presented in collaboration with The New York Times’ Top 50 restaurant Isidore, this event highlights the intricate relationship between pollinators and the hyper-local, foraged ingredients that define our region’s culinary landscape.
Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated dinner experience, available by reservation, featuring opportunities to engage with local bat, bird, bee, and butterfly experts and participate in interactive activities designed to inspire a stronger connection to San Antonio’s environment—and the pollinators that make our food possible.
Activities include a live bee hive, honey tasting, interactive nectar guide black box, migration maps and more.

Brackenridge Park transformed into a hub of exploration and discovery during our unforgettable evening celebrating the migrating species that traverse the Texas Funnel. Guests were captivated by the debut of Lights Out! Bird City Maze, Blooming with Birdie’s newest immersive, multi-sensory installation. The larger-than-life maze offered a unique perspective as participants stepped into the wings of a migrating bird, navigating city hazards like reflective windows and bright lights—a thrilling and thought-provoking experience.
A look back at 2024
The evening buzzed with activity and camaraderie. Guests enjoyed light bites and cocktails, tested their skills at birdwatching and monarch tagging, and viewed an exclusive screening of Lights Out Texas: A Documentary Film.
A highlight of the evening was the expert panel discussion featuring author Monika Maeckle, wildlife biologist and birder Danielle Belleny, and bat researcher Dr. Amanda Adams, moderated by Jeanette Honermann. Their insights into the migration's critical importance left attendees inspired and informed.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible celebration of the awe-inspiring journeys of migrating species. We look forward to seeing you next year!
